Responsibilities:
The Global Application Development Support Center (GADSC) DBA Manager is a technical manager who manages a team of 10 to 20 Oracle and SQL server DBA’s.
The GADSC DBA team will consist of Oracle & SQL Server DBA’s. The DBA team is responsible for delivering end-to-end database solutions . Must be able to architect vision and drive team to realization of the vision and ensure architecture alignment across infrastructure, applications and end users. This includes but is not limited to the following: day-to-day operations, accountable for project execution against Plan of Record (POR) commitments, IT Innovation project and administration processes such as finance and SOX.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree in Computer Science
- Computer Science or equivalent experience. Master's (graduate) degree is preferred
- Must have strong database domain knowledge in Oracle and SQL Server with a minimum of 10+ years experience in database administration supporting large enterprise class applications at a fortune 500 company
- Must have 4 + years of experience managing a skilled team of DBA’s
- Must have experience managing global database teams supporting mission critical and entity essential database environments. Must include support for very large Oracle and SQL Server databases, with 24x7 limited downtime availability
- Must have experience establishing standard operating procedures, designing high availability environments and architecting disaster readiness/recovery for Oracle and SQL Server databases
- Must be very organized, pro-active and self directed with ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
- Must have very strong abstract thinking and problem solving skills
- Must have very good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with full software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies and project and resources management. Prior software development experiences a plus
